This video shows you how to spatchcock a turkey without poultry shears or kitchen scissors. You can use kitchen shears, but we show you how we do it with a good old kitchen knife or butcher's knife. The reason why we butterfly turkey is, so it lays flatter and cooks quicker too. That's why I wanted to show you how to spatchcock a turkey for smoking on a gas grill or charcoal grill. It's really simple to prepare your turkey this way. And an added plus is to use the backbone and the giblets to make an awesome flavored gravy.
