Lodge Cast Iron Cook It All (Ultimate Frittata Recipe)
We are making an ultimate frittata in our new Lodge Cast Iron Cook It All. The Lodge Cast Iron Cook It All does a great job making a loaded frittata on the open fire! Frittatas are a great way to combine many ingredients into one great big breakfast. Frittatas are like a quiche except without a crust. In this video, I used bacon on the very bottom as I cooked this frittata and it formed a bit of a crust. Our frittata recipe consisted of bacon, of course! Also, we used green bell pepper and red bell pepper. And too, we had a whole jalapeno sliced, but that is optional if you don't like the extra flavor! Additional items were onions, mushrooms, baby spinach, and cheese. We used two different kinds of cheese in this dish. Mozzarella and cheddar but you can use whatever type of cheese you prefer. We used a dozen eggs and a small amount of heavy whipping cream. And as far as seasoning, I used SPGO! Salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Since cheese and bacon have salt in them, be careful to not put too much salt in your frittata or it might be too salty! The Cook It All did a great job cooking the frittata out on the open fire or actually in our firepit. I am well pleased with how everything turned out so far. It seems like it is going to be a great asset in my arsenal of cast iron cookware. I can tell you that I am looking forward to many great recipes being cooked out on the open fire using the Cast Iron Cook It All!
